Participants will have the opportunity to deepen their knowledge, develop practical skills, and familiarize themselves with current standards and the latest technologies used in the preservation of film heritage.
The first three days of the training will take place online, covering topics such as film tape digitization, the general process of image restoration, and issues related to conservation.
The training is part of FINA’s activities as a competence center in the field of audiovisual resource digitization. Its goal is to enhance participants' skills in digitization and conservation, as well as to support standardization and modernization processes related to audiovisual collection management.
The training is intended for:
- audiovisual collection conservators,
- digitization specialists,
- image and sound restoration specialists.
The training program includes:
- types of film reels and audiovisual media,
- microbiological inspection of film collections,
- standards for film material storage,
- image and sound digitization processes,
- digital restoration and color correction,
- mastering and preparation of materials for further access and archiving.
The training combines theory and practice — participants will have the opportunity to work with specialized equipment and learn best practices used by leading institutions in the field of audiovisual heritage preservation.
