Summary:
On June 23, 2006, in a formal address for the graduation ceremony of the L. Jeffrey Selznick School of Film Preservation at the George Eastman Museum in Rochester, New York, five hypotheses on the future of film archives in the 21st century were discussed with students, museum staff, and the general public. The goal of the masterclass is to discuss the concepts formulated on that occasion in light of the most recent developments in the moving image archival field, twenty years after the formulation of the strategic directions presented in Rochester.
